"App not installed"

Android shows this vague message for several different causes. Check them in this order:

  1. A different copy is already installed

If you ever installed a mod or a copy from another site, it's signed with a different key and blocks the official file. Go to Settings › Apps › Top Follow › Uninstall, then install again.

  2. Your Android is too old

Top Follow 8.4.6 needs Android 7.0 or newer. Check Settings › About phone. There's no official build for Android 6 and below.

  3. Your phone runs 32-bit ARM

The APK only contains arm64-v8a, x86 and x86_64 code. Some older budget phones and many Android Go devices run a 32-bit ARM system and can't install it. Try version 8.3.9 Beta, the newest build that still supports 32-bit phones, or use an emulator on a PC.

  4. Not enough storage

Free at least 100 MB, since installation needs room for temporary files, then retry.

  5. Wrong or damaged file

Check the size (9.2 MB) and SHA-256 against our download page.

"There was a problem parsing the package"

This almost always means the file is incomplete or not really an APK:

  • Delete the file and download it again, ideally on Wi-Fi. The finished file must be exactly 9231182 bytes.
  • Don't rename it to something without .apk at the end.
  • If a download site gave you a .zip, .xapk or a "downloader" app instead, that isn't the official file. Use the developer's link.

"File might be harmful" and Play Protect warnings

Chrome warns about every APK download because the file type can install software. It isn't a scan result. Google Play Protect may call Top Follow unrecognised or offer to scan it, because it isn't on Google Play. If the SHA-256 matches, continue with Download anyway and Install anyway. If Play Protect ever says an app is harmful and names a specific threat, stop and delete it: you probably have a fake file.

Login problems

These are the developer's recommended fixes, in order:

  1. Log in on the official Instagram app first

Open Instagram with the same account. If it asks "Was this you?", a code, or a phone number, complete it. That's the usual reason Top Follow's login fails.

  2. Clear Top Follow's data

Settings › Apps › Top Follow › Storage › Clear data (you'll need to sign in again), then retry.

  3. Check the account isn't restricted

If Instagram shows a warning or a disabled-account page in its own app, Top Follow can't sign in either.

  4. Wait, then try once

Several failed logins in a row look suspicious to Instagram. Give it a few hours before the next attempt.

  5. Contact the developer

If none of this works, use the support contact on the developer's contact page. We can't access accounts.

"Try again later" or action blocked

This comes from Instagram, not Top Follow. Instagram has temporarily stopped the task account from following or liking.

  • Stop all tasks on that account immediately. Retrying during a block can extend it.
  • Wait 24–48 hours. Many blocks are lifted sooner, but repeated blocks last longer.
  • When you resume, turn anti-block on and stay under the developer's limit of 100 actions an hour.
  • Complete the account: profile photo, bio, 5+ posts. The developer says accounts created with a phone number are restricted less.
  • If the same account is blocked again and again, retire it. Its trust level probably won't recover.

Coins not updating

  1. Refresh

Close Top Follow completely (swipe it away from recent apps) and reopen it.

  2. Check the task account is actually acting

Open the task account in Instagram. If recent follows or likes aren't there, Instagram blocked them silently and no coins are due.

  3. Give it a few minutes

Actions can be confirmed shortly after they happen, especially when many users are online.

  4. Update the app

Older versions can fall out of sync with the server. Install 8.4.6.

Orders not delivered, or followers dropping

  • Check History (gear icon › History). An order that's queued or in progress just needs time. Delivery depends on how many users are doing tasks.
  • Likes or comments not arriving? The target account must be public.
  • Username changed? If the target account was renamed after you ordered, the order may not reach it.
  • Followers dropping is normal with exchange apps. Some users unfollow after collecting coins, and Instagram removes follows it considers inauthentic.

Server down or connection error

  1. Check your own connection

Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, and open another app to confirm the internet works.

  2. Look for an announcement

The developer posts updates on its Telegram channel. If there's maintenance, waiting is the only fix.

  3. Update

After server changes, old builds often show connection errors until you install the latest version.

  4. Turn off VPNs, ad blockers and "data saver"

Private DNS or ad-blocking apps can block the app's servers. Disable them and retry.

App crashes or freezes

  • Clear cache first (Settings › Apps › Top Follow › Storage › Clear cache). If it still crashes, clear data.
  • Update Android System WebView and Chrome from Google Play, since in-app login pages depend on them.
  • Reinstall 8.4.6 from the download page if the problem started after installing a file from somewhere else.
  • Restart the phone. It sounds too simple, but it clears stuck background services, including the auto bot.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Top Follow not working today?

If it worked yesterday, the usual reasons are server maintenance (check the developer's Telegram channel), an Instagram action block on your task account, or an app update being required. Start with the server-down steps above.

Why does Top Follow say "App not installed"?

Most often a differently signed copy is already installed. Uninstall it first. Otherwise your phone is below Android 7.0 or runs a 32-bit ARM system that version 8.4.6 doesn't support. For 32-bit phones, 8.3.9 Beta still works.

How long does an Instagram action block last?

Commonly from a few hours to 48 hours. Repeated blocks on the same account tend to last longer. Stop all tasks until it clears.

Can you fix my Top Follow account or coins?

No. We're an independent guide and have no access to the app's servers. For account or coin problems, contact the developer through its official contact page.
